The
Anderson County Clerk’s Office has three departments: the Motor Vehicle
Department, the Recording Department, and the Election Department. The Motor
Vehicle Department is responsible for titling and licensing motor vehicles,
watercraft, trailers, ATVs, etc. The Recording Department maintains the records of marriage licenses, deeds, mortgages, wills, title liens, power-of-attorneys, etc. They also collect all delinquent real estate taxes that come to our office from the Anderson County Sheriff's Department in April of each year and conduct the Delinquent Tax Sale later in the summer. The Election Department is responsible for maintaining voter registration and, in conjunction with the Anderson County Board of Elections, for conducting the county's election process.
